AERO Vodochody is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the Czech Republic. Its focus is on development, production, sales and maintenance of aircraft and aircraft parts assemblies for both the military and civil aerospace technology. Penta purchased AERO during the privatisation process in 2007, its strategic goal was to stabilise the company and ensure its long-term position as a key partner for global aerospace manufacturers.
In 2017, AERO returned to manufacturing its own aircraft after a number of years and the prototype of L39 NG was introduced a year later.
Penta also owned the international airport of Vodochody, which is right next to the AERO facility.
In 2021, Penta signed a sale & purchase agreement with the Hungarian company HSC Aerojet Zrt. Along with Aero Vodochody, Penta also sold Letiště Vodochody, a.s.
