Jaroslav Haščák, the co-founder of the Penta investment group, returns to the top management of the company after almost four years. With effect from 1 October 2024, he will once again be fully involved in the Investment Committee and the Executive Board, as well as in the management of Penta Group's corporate portfolio.

This decision comes in the wake of a recent judgement by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava, acquitting Jaroslav Haščák of the charges in the Gorilla case filed in November 2022. In its judgement, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges were based on fabricated or non-existent evidence. Jaroslav Haščák resigned from his position as the Managing Partner in December 2020 after the first indictment, which was found to be illegal in 2021 and subsequently dismissed. The Slovak Republic subsequently apologised to Jaroslav Haščák for this charge.

Jaroslav Haščák founded the Penta investment group 30 years ago together with his classmates Marek Dospiva and Jozef Oravkin. Until the end of 2020, he was the Managing Partner responsible for the strategy, key processes and selection of top managers. He also made the decision that Penta should enter the healthcare sector. Between 2010 and 2012, he initiated a fundamental change in the investment strategy from a private equity model to a long-term investor. Under the leadership of J. Haščák, the group focused on the growth of investments in technology, digitalization, innovation and, later, artificial intelligence.

Jaroslav Haščák now plans to focus his attention mainly on key strategic issues related to the possibilities of expansion of companies such as Dr.Max, Fortuna Entertainment Group and Penta Hospitals International into new markets. He sees the potential in further developing their successful strategies with the ambition to turn these companies into global players in their respective industries.

Jaroslav Haščák will complement the current top management of the Penta Group which consists of Marek Dospiva, Iain Child, Václav Jirků, Marián Slivovič and Fabrice Dumontheil.

Penta Group also announces that the ownership structure at the level of Penta Investments Group Limited Cyprus (the fund) and the associated voting rights and economic benefits remain unchanged.
