The main aim of the new owner of AERO Vodochody a.s. (AERO) – private equity group Penta Investments – is to reach long-term stability and profitability of AERO. Thus Penta endorses all activities which will bring AERO closer to this aim, including the sale of L-159A Advanced Light Combat Aircraft and L-159B Advanced Training and Light Combat Aircraft on foreign markets.
Cooperation with the Army of the Czech Republic represents, as Penta mentioned earlier, one of the priorities of the restructuring process of AERO. This cooperation includes particularly support of the Czech Air Force L-159 and L-39 fleet, two-seat L-159 delivery as well as other contracts, concluded or newly prepared. Penta takes over all obligations of AERO to the Army of the Czech Republic, which arise from recently concluded privatization documents as well as contracts concluded between AERO and the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic (MoD). Future cooperation will thus include also the sale of surplus L-159A aircraft in the MoD ownership, which will in case of a contract be supplemented by the L-159B two-seat training version.
The restructuring plan of AERO, prepared by Penta, is aimed besides the cooperation with the Army of the Czech Republic on preserving aircraft production and also development of the Vodochody Airport.
